English actress Jameela Jamil has said that she nearly committed suicide last year because of journalist Piers Morgan’s relentless campaign of lies and hatred against her. The actress also criticized Piers Morgan for his attack on Meghan Markle after her recent sensational interview with Oprah Winfrey.
Sharing her ordeal on Twitter, Jameela Jamil mentioned that the ‘Good Morning Britain’ host’s comments about her had a devastating impact on her mental health. “I almost committed suicide a year ago due to Piers Morgan’s relentless campaign of lies and hatred against me last February. I am glad to be alive today for many reasons. Seeing him leave GMB today is right there and makes me feel,” Jamil wrote on her social media page, along with a GIF of herself posing on a red carpet. Morgan resigned after a heated debate with her co-star Alex Beresford about Meghan Markle’s interview with Oprah Winfrey.
Jamil concluded: “Hopefully we NEVER have to see minorities have to make headlines and have to * defend * their right to be treated with dignity and respect … never again. All while this man yells at them. @GMB” .
