MANILA, Philippines – NLEX finished their season on a winning note, beating Terrafirma, 127-101, in the PBA Philippine Cup on Wednesday at AUF Sports Arena & Cultural Center in Angeles, Pampanga.

The Road Warriors made quick work of Dyip thanks to a spectacular third quarter in which they unleashed 42 points for a 97-71 lead heading into the final draw.

NLEX finished the conference by winning four of their last five games, but their late raise was still not enough to propel themselves to the playoffs.

“The first half of our elimination round was disappointing. We did well in the second half, which was when we started to win, ”said NLEX head coach Yeng Guiao.

“We just fell short. If only we had a few more games left. The first three or four games were really bad, ”lamented Guiao.

Kiefer Ravena powered the Road Warriors with 23 points on 9 of 13 shooting from the field, plus five rebounds and four assists.

Raúl Soyud, who has been one of the few bright spots for NLEX, added 16 points, five rebounds and five assists.

So Taulava played about 15 minutes and scored 11 points in what could be her last game in the PBA.

Taulava, 47, wrapped up her 21st season with the PBA.

“I do not know i do not know. I am not going to comment on that, ”Taulava said upon leaving.
CJ Pérez added 27 points and 10 rebounds for Terrafirma, which closed his season with 1-10.
