Gilas prepares for training after arriving in Bahrain for Fiba qualification

GILAS Pilipinas arrived safely in Manama for the 2021 Fiba Asia Cup qualifiers on Sunday night.

The young squad, which boarded Gulf Air flight GF155, landed at Bahrain International Airport in Muharraq at 11:28 pm (Manila time) after a 10-hour journey and is staying at the Gulf Court Hotel in Sanabis .

College stars Kobe Paras, Juan Gómez de Liano and Justine Baltazar led the 15-man group that will face Thailand in a two-game series on November 27-30 at Khalifa Sport City.

Gilas special recruits Isaac Go, Rey Suerte, Allyn Bulanadi and twins Matt and Mike Nieto are also on the team.

The Filipino squad is completed by Dwight Ramos, Dave Ildefonso, Will Navarro, Javi Gómez de Liano, Calvin Oftana, Kemark Carino and Jaydee Tungcab.

Gilas is expected to resume his practices in Bahrain on Monday under the direction of program director Tab Baldwin, head coach Jong Uichico and assistants Boyet Fernández and Alton Lister.
