Novak Djokovic had his neck bandaged during the match at the Philippe-Chatrier Court and his movement seemed somewhat restricted during the first set.
Pablo Carreño Busta has accused Novak Djokovic of feigning injury concerns during the quarterfinals of the French Open on Wednesday.
The Spaniard felt that the world number one had no genuine health problems even though he appeared to have injury issues.
Djokovic, 33, was in trouble against Carreño Busta in Wednesday’s quarterfinals, wrestling with his neck and arm before fighting in four sets. He also called the coach on the court to work on a problem with his upper left arm.
But the Serbian recovered well to advance to the semi-finals and later said he had to deal with some physical problems during the first part of his match, without providing much detail.

“Every time he is in trouble, he usually does, that means that he was in trouble, that he did not feel comfortable and that I was playing at a high level and I was making him doubt himself,” Carreño Busta told reporters in Spanish.
“Every time a game gets tough, he asks for medical help. He’s been doing this for a long time. I already knew. I knew it would happen at the US Open, I knew it would happen here and I know it will continue to happen.
“I don’t know if it’s chronic on his shoulder or just mental, but it didn’t put me off.”
