The Canelo Alvarez vs Callum Smith WBC / WBA unified super middleweight championship is now underway at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas with two undercard results shown below:
Undefeated super featherweight prospect Raymond Ford (8-0-0, 4KOs) of Camden, NJ knocked down Juan Antonio Lopez (15-8-0, 6KOs) twice en route to a seventh-round TKO victory in his super featherweight scheduled to eight rounds. Ford was too quick and precise against veteran Juan Antonio Lopez who kissed the canvas in the first and seventh rounds. However, Lopez showed his toughness and had his moments on the streak, but after the second knockdown, referee Jon Schorle had seen enough and stirred up the fight for Ford’s TKO victory.
At the opening of the curtain Alexis Eduardo Molina (8-0-1, 5KOs) of Guadalajara, Mexico fought for a majority draw against Robert Greenwood (5-0-1, 2KOs) of Frankfort, Indiana. Scores: 39-37 and 37-37 twice.
