Fleetwood Mac’s Dreams has seen a huge surge in popularity since being featured in a wonderful TikTok video, getting its highest streaming numbers in the US.
Idaho worker Nathan Apodaca, known as 420doggface208 on TikTok, filmed himself skateboarding down a highway drinking cranberry juice and articulating the lyrics sung by Stevie Nicks on Dreams. His carefree mood quickly made him viral, with more than 23 million views so far; Fleetwood Mac drummer Mick Fleetwood recreated it later.
The success of the clip has sparked 8.47 million views of Dreams in the past week in the United States, surpassing the previous high of 3.83 million, set in September. The song also returned to the UK charts last week, at No. 85.
Rumors, the album featuring Dreams, returned to the US Top 40 for the first time since 2013, peaking at # 27.
In the UK, it has held its position from the previous week, number 22. Rumors has spent the last 41 weeks in the UK Top 40, and a total of 856 weeks in the Top 100 since its launch in 1977.
Apodaca has received thousands of dollars in donations since posting the clip, which he plans to spend on vehicle repairs and upgrades, just like his parents.
