MANILA, Philippines – A number of Filipino-American fans are hoping to make a name for themselves in American college basketball.

In addition to Gilas’s wife, Ella Fajardo, three other cagebelles signed agreements with schools in Division I and II of the US NCAA.

Brianna Furch of Brentwood School in Los Angeles is set to play Division I basketball for the Cal State Fullerton Titans.

The Titans compete in the NCAA Big West Conference.

Meanwhile, Olivia Garcia from Buchanan High School in Clovis, California, is heading to Fresno Pacific University’s NCAA Division II school.

Garcia will prepare for the Sunbirds in the Western Pacific conference for the 2021-22 season.

Rounding out the highlights of the Fil-Am cagebelle signings last week is Mia Jasmine from Rutgers Prep in New Jersey.

Jasmine signed with the University of Delaware Blue Hens who currently compete in the Colonial Athletic Association.

The Philippine heritage in basketball continues to shine, not only in the men’s division, but also among the women.
