MANILA – The University of Angeles Foundation Cultural and Sports Center will be a very crowded stadium from February 17-22, 2021, as FIBA will host two FIBA Asian Cup qualifying groups there as part of the window February bubble.
Gilas Pilipinas Men, the host team, will play three times in Group A.
Gilas Men will face South Korea in a rescheduling of their postponed November window game on February 18.
Gilas Men will face Indonesia on February 20 before meeting South Korea again on February 22.
South Korea escaped any FIBA sanctions for not competing in the November window in Manama, Bahrain, but the team will have to play four games in five nights.
Between the two games against Gilas Men are South Korea’s games against Indonesia on February 19 and Thailand on February 20, with only February 21 as the day off.
Indonesia and Thailand will also meet on February 22.
Meanwhile, Guam and Hong Kong will be Angels’ busiest teams, playing five games each throughout the bubble period.
In what would essentially be just the second window in Group C play, the aforementioned teams will meet for the first time on February 17 in a rescheduling of their first postponed matchup.
Australia and New Zealand will go into action the next day, battling Guam and Hong Kong respectively.
Hong Kong and Guam will meet again on February 19, while Australia and New Zealand will meet on the same day.
Official third window games for Group C would take place after the teams’ day off on February 20.
New Zealand will fight Guam and Australia will face Hong Kong on February 21, while rematches of the February 18 pairings will take place on February 22.
