Netflix announced the return of its animated series Castlevania for a fourth season in March and now creator and writer Warren Ellis has more.

Posting on her official site, Ellis described a call to Netflix where the success of Castlevania season 3 was discussed.

“I really can’t tell you all the exact numbers,” Ellis wrote. “What I can say is that the popularity of season 3 was an order of magnitude compared to that of season 2, and season 2 was popular enough to get us season 3. It turns out that season 3 was really amazing “

That’s good news for season 4 of the series, and may even secure a season 5 in the future. Almost as impressive is that Ellis does not anticipate a release date delay for next season due to the ongoing crash of the coronavirus pandemic.

Ellis expressed her hope that the success of the series can have a healthy effect on animation in general.

“If it turns out that this weird thing is what was meant to open the door to adult-oriented drama narration in English animation, I’d be delighted,” Ellis wrote. “Because we just showed that the audience is there, in the same numbers that appear in the live-action drama.”

While Trevor Belmont (Richard Armitage), Alucard (James Callis), and Sypha Belnades (Alejandra Reynoso) successfully killed Dracula (Graham McTavish) at the end of Season 2, it’s hard to keep a good vampire. In Season 3, the Lindenfeld monks attempted to resurrect Dracula, but instead, Dracula was reunited with his beloved wife, Lisa, in hell.

But while Dracula may be out of the mortal realm (for now), vampire Carmilla (Jaime Murray) still plans to take over Wallachia, with his Council of Sisters controlling the power of Hector (Theo James), the master of the forge. from the devil of Dracula. With Hector under Carmilla’s control, he now has power over Dracula’s night creatures. A disillusioned Alucard also seems to increasingly follow in his father’s bloody footsteps. Many dangers are to come in the coming season.

“Four seasons of an Anglophone adult drama animation about vampires, moral philosophy, and toilet paper. Which is not a niche production, but something with an audience of (stops, sees the point of Netflix sniper rifle). .. many, many millions Who saw that coming? Ellis said, ending her thanks to everyone for watching.

While season of Castlevania Does not have an official release date, the gap between seasons 2 and 3 was approximately one year and four months, suggesting that we might be able to watch season 4 episodes of the series premiere on Netflix in July 2021.
