MANILA, Philippines – President Rodrigo Duterte approved the recommendation of the multi-agency task force created to investigate alleged corruption activities at the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) to bring criminal and administrative cases against former PhilHealth chief Ricardo Morales and several others. officials of the state insurer.
In a recorded speech that aired Monday night, Duterte read a portion of Task Force PhilHealth’s recommendations.

Duterte created a task force to investigate PhilHealth officials on allegations of corruption uncovered during recent Congressional investigations.
Among the complaints of corruption raised are the acquisition of supposedly overvalued computer equipment; the allegedly questionable release of funds under the corporation’s Interim Refund Mechanism (IRM); and the alleged manipulation of the financial status of the corporation.
