Hyundai and the world superstars, BTS, have collaborated on music for the first time to release a new song, “Ioniq: I’m On It”. The song and upcoming music video are intended to promote Hyundai’s new dedicated electric vehicle (EV) brand, Ioniq.
The song is now available for free download HERE. The music video will premiere on Hyundai’s official global YouTube channel on September 2, 2020.
The collaborative project shares Hyundai’s goal of providing individualized and environmentally friendly electric mobility. Through the Ioniq brand, Hyundai aims to deliver customer-centric electric vehicle experiences. The new brand will introduce three new dedicated electric vehicle models over the next four years with more innovative models to follow. These include a mid-size crossoever SUV called the Ioniq 5; a sedan the Ioniq 6; and a large SUV, the Ioniq 7.
The song’s lyrics, sung and rapped by BTS’s RM, Jin, SUGA, j-hope, Jimin, V, and Jung Kook, share the many possibilities with an Ioniq vehicle. Naturally, the music video will feature Hyundai’s latest EV concept, Prophecy. The vehicle will be officially unveiled in March 2021.
“The new IONIQ line is Hyundai’s answer to the environmental issues and sustainable global communities that concern Millennials and Gen-Z generations, and we will showcase the substance through accelerating EV’s vision for the future.” said Wonhong Cho, executive vice president president and global chief marketing officer for Hyundai Motor Company.
“For this special project, we have all focused on individual moments that are important to us,” RM explained in the filming of the music video. “For me, time for the inner self is extremely important, I think we all need time for reflection in order to grow.”
Fans who want to further celebrate Ioniq with BTS can take part in an online event for a chance to win a limited edition cassette tape music player. The music player contains two tracks: “Ioniq: I’m On It” and individual messages from each member of the band.
Hyundai first introduced the Ioniq as a five-door fastback. The name Ioniq is an acronym for ‘ion’ and ‘unique’. Hyunda Philippines currently offers the Ioniq in hybrid form, priced at P1,548,000.
