NBA Geeks Know I Recycled A Line Title They Often Say Kevin O’Connor of The ringer O’Connor’s pleas are heartfelt reminders for fans to appreciate The King’s current greatness, but LeBron’s barrage of content from the NBA media has sickened some fans.
Just take a look at this response to one of O’Connor’s tweets:

Objectively, these trolls are absolutely correct. A Reddit user even showed this by creating this table that compares the amount of social media posts per team and player made by the popular sports post. Bleach report.
LeBron and his Los Angeles Lakers feel great on top.
Here’s an easy argument: LeBron is the most popular player in the world, on the league’s most popular team, which is also one of the best teams in the NBA. Simple business sense would tell you that promoting your most wanted product will generate revenue.
However, I understand the feelings of these so-called trolls. Leveraging popularity draws casual fans, but often drives away a large audience that needs its own content.
Like them, I’d be delighted to see Bradley Beal’s featured 30-second reels every other day. But unfortunately, despite being second in the league in scoring, Beal is near the end of the aforementioned table with which LeBron escapes.
In fact, as a fan of the Washington Wizards, I grew up absolutely despising the very fiber of LeBron James’s being; I saw him eliminate the magicians led by Arenas who my pre-teen self was convinced were immortal.
But now I sit back and consume the barrage of LeBron content without a hint of disgust. I take every tomahawk dunk, every pass without looking, every #TacoTuesday and even every Tiktok with the #JamesGang, simply because I learned not to take LeBron James for granted.
LeBron is the presentation of our generation for the G.O.A.T., and if you think it could achieve the same status as Michael Jordan, it is the closest thing we have to offer.
For people like me in their twenties, Jordan was primarily a legend of our father’s stories and low definition YouTube clips. If LeBron is going to be the clear NBA representative that will welcome the next generation into NBA history, then I totally agree with this burst of elite LeBron content for the sake of my future son or fan of the NBA.
Especially since LeBron is now 35 years old and may have finished his 17th season in the league. It’s absolutely amazing that he played at the MVP level last season, even when he was already No. 3 in NBA history in the minutes played of all time. But father’s time always prevails, and for LeBron, he’s slowly raising his ugly head.
However, The King still has a lot more content to create for us before it has.
There are several milestones that LeBron must pursue, and none can be as important as the scoring leader of all time, a position currently held by Kareem Abdul-Jabaar. LeBron has never been known as a prolific scorer, but this achievement would be a testament to his longevity, consistency, and durability on the basketball court.
Of course, there’s still an opportunity to add another ring or two, though it’s a shame that the impending cancellation of this NBA season is likely to cost you one of your best opportunities to do so.
Assuming the season is canceled, this would be a missed opportunity comparable to Jordan’s year in baseball, only without being previously thought through by LeBron’s side.
There are also some wild possibilities left. LeBron could recreate his infamous Decision and transfer it to another franchise when he re-enters free agency in 2021.
There is also a chance that he and his son, Bronny James, would become the first father-son duo to play in the NBA at the same time. That is, of course, if LeBron manages to continue playing until the 2024-2025 season.
Every time you decide to hang up your 23rd jersey for the last time, all we have left of LeBron’s amazing basketball career will be YouTube clips and Instagram videos.
So whatever the rest of LeBron’s career holds, I’m 100% here for it, and so will the rest of the media. Get on board. – Rappler.com
