A nun holds a figure of the Infant Jesus at the end of the Pope’s weekly Angelus prayer in St. Peter’s Square at the Vatican on the third Sunday of Advent Sunday. The third Sunday of Advent has been for many years the day on which the faithful bring the statues of the Child Jesus from their Nativity scenes to Saint Peter’s Square to be blessed by the Pope during the Angelus. The day is known as “Domingo Bambinelli”.
