DOH: PH COVID-19 cases reach 412,097 with 1,383 new infections

MANILA, Philippines – The total number of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases in the Philippines reached 412,097 after an additional 1,383 infections were recorded, according to the Department of Health (DOH) on Wednesday.

The DOH, in its daily COVID-19 bulletin, also reported 143 new recoveries and 95 additional deaths, bringing the total to 374,666 and 7,957, respectively.

Of the total number of cases, 29,474 are active cases, representing 7.2 percent of the total count.

Of the active cases, 83.8 percent are mild cases, while 8.3 percent are asymptomatic, 4.9 percent are critical, 2.7 percent are severe, and 0.22 percent remaining are moderate cases.

Cavite was identified as the area with the highest number of new COVID-19 cases with 81, followed by Laguna with 74, Batangas with 71, Quezon City with 69 and Rizal with 67.

DOH noted that it removed four duplicates, of which two were recoveries, from the total case count.

“In addition, 18 cases previously labeled as recovered were reclassified as deaths,” the DOH added.
