Diana Zubiri revealed that she gave birth to a healthy girl named Amira amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

The actress and her husband, Andy Smith, talked about their newborn in a vlog post on their YouTube channel yesterday, October 7.

Although the couple kept the pregnancy a secret, they made sure to document the entire trip in a 15-minute video. The vlog showed the moment when Zubiri knew he was waiting until the birth of Amira.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions and social distancing guidelines, Zubiri and Smith had to host a gender reveal party with their loved ones via video call. After hearing the guesses from their friends and family, they announced that they were having a second daughter.

Zubiri also received gifts from other celebrities such as Alfred Vargas and Ara Mina after the small online meeting. Despite Smith’s enthusiasm for her new baby, she was not allowed to be by Zubiri’s side during Amira’s birth as a precaution against the virus.

He added that Zubiri has to be quarantined at home with the baby for two weeks before they can interact with the rest of the family. During Zubiri’s quarantine period, Smith will be left with her first daughter, Aliya, and Zubiri’s son, King, whom she shares with her late ex-husband, Alex Lopez.

Smith also couldn’t help crying when he saw the first photo of Amira with Zubiri right after she was born.

“I’m excited because I wasn’t excited the first time with Aliyah, because I was more shocked,” he said.

Smith later stated that Zubiri’s journey was far from easy, even if this is her third time giving birth.

“You know if you only saw how difficult it was for her in the last few months, especially last week,” she said while emphasizing that the three days prior to delivery were the hardest for Zubiri.

While Zubiri and baby Amira must grow apart for a while, Smith is still determined to document their early days together even from afar. He revealed that he bought a ladder so that he could photograph the mother and daughter from his bedroom window for the two weeks.

When the video was over, Zubiri showed her and Amira safely at her home.
