The Immigration Office is preparing deportation proceedings against suspected suicide bomber Resky Fantasya Rullie, who was arrested by authorities on Saturday.

However, the Immigration Office (BI) clarified that Rullie, an Indonesian citizen, will have to face the criminal charges against her before being deported.

Rullie was arrested by joint agents from the Philippine Army’s 11th Infantry Division, the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group 9, the National Intelligence Coordination Agency 9 and the Immigration Office.

The Indonesian is reportedly the wife of Abu Sayyaf Group (ASG) deputy leader Andi Baso, who was killed in a clash with government troops in Sulu.

His parents were reportedly responsible for the January 2019 twin suicide bombing at Mount Carmel Cathedral in Jolo.

Along with Rullie, Inda Nhur and Fatima Sandra Jimlani Jama, both wives of high-ranking members of the ASG, were arrested.

All three were arrested under a search warrant issued by a local court in Jolo, Sulu.

Inside his residence, a suicide vest equipped with tube bombs and other improvised explosive device (IED) components was confiscated.

Melody Gonzales, director of the Mindanao BI Intelligence Task Force (MITG), said Rullie was the subject of months of surveillance and it was discovered that she had allegedly been planning to carry out a suicide bombing attempt in Sulu prior to the arrest.

“They have been taken to the police station to be documented and charged. It has been recommended that a deportation case be filed against Rullie for terrorism, being an illegal participant and for undesirability, in addition to the criminal charges he faces, ”Gonzales said.

Rullie is considered a valuable target in the government’s campaign against foreigners involved in terrorist activities in the South.

BI Commissioner Jaime Morente praised his men for their efforts along with other government law enforcement units to hunt down these local and foreign terrorists.

“We will not stop until we have rid our country of these demons that abuse our hospitality and hurt our people,” Morente said.
