Two days after issuing an invitation to tender for the supply and delivery of ham and cheese worth P4.27 million for the Christmas celebration of its central office, the Department of Education (DepEd) canceled the tender, saying that the funds the victims of typhoons “Rolly” and “Ulysses” and DepEd’s response to the pandemic would be realigned. “It is inappropriate at this time when our employees are severely affected by recent disasters,” said June Arvin Gudoy, director of public affairs services. “The well-being of our teachers and students continues to be our priority,” he said. —Nikka G.
