Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte takes 8 days of medical leave

MANILA – Davao city mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio is on sick leave from Sept. 28 to Oct. 5, her office said.

“She will be out of town for medical reasons. She is continuously present online to meet her office deadlines,” the Davao city government said on Facebook.

There were no more immediate details on the medical discharge of President Rodrigo Duterte’s daughter.

Duterte-Carpio, in a memorandum, named his brother, Vice Mayor Sebastián “Baste” Duterte, as interim mayor.

The younger Duterte “will assume the duties and responsibilities of said position (interim mayor) as mandated by law and will oversee the general operations of all city governments / departments / officials, and perform other duties that may be directed by the below signer from time to time, “said his sister.
