CRK expansion was completed early

The Clark International Airport (CRK) expansion was completed in late September, ahead of the original planned completion date of October.

Its new Passenger Terminal Building (PTB) begins commercial operations in January 2021.

Once operational, its passenger capacity will triple from the current 4.2 million to 12.2 million annually.

The expansion will also raise CRK’s stature as “Asia’s Next Premier Gateway” and help decongest passenger traffic in NAIA.

In addition, the airport is expected to boost economic progress in Central Luzon, providing jobs and more tourism and socio-economic activities throughout the region.

Despite the challenges posed by the pandemic, the Department of Transportation (DOTr), the Base Development and Conversion Authority (BCDA), and GMR Megawide accelerated construction work at CRK and made tremendous progress while continuing to observe the protocols of Health and security.
