MANILA, Philippines – The Philippines recorded 1,733 additional coronavirus (COVID-19) infections on Saturday, bringing the total number of virus cases to 438,069.
Of the recently reported cases, the Department of Health (DOH) said the city of Davao topped the list of new infections in all cities and municipalities in the country. The city has 162 cases of COVID-19.
This was followed by Quezon City with 92 cases; Benguet with 80 cases; Rizal Province with 70; and Laguna with 66 cases.
DOH also posted 133 new recoveries, increasing total recoveries to 438,069.
The health department also reported 8,526 total deaths, including 17 additional deaths.
Meanwhile, 29,961 cases are active, or 6.8 percent of total COVID-19 cases nationwide.
