MANILA, Philippines – COVID-19 patients have been transferred from mega-treatment facilities to hospitals and hotels as the country prepares for Typhoon Rolly, known internationally as Goni, which is expected to make landfall Sunday morning, the Program National of Disaster Risk Reduction and Management. Council (NDRRMC) said on Saturday.

The patients were previously housed in large tents at the Philippine Arena in Bulacan and at various locations in Metro Manila: the Philippines International Convention Center, Ninoy Aquino Stadium, Rizal Memorial Stadium, said Undersecretary of Defense Ricardo Jalad at a conference news report on Typhoon Rolly. .

Jalad is the administrator of the Civil Defense Office and the executive director of the NDRRMC.

According to Jalad, there have been no reports of people becoming infected with COVID-19 within evacuation centers set up for Typhoon Quinta.
