MANILA – The number of cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Quezon City rose to 1,518 on Friday, the city government said.
Citing data from the Department of Health (DOH), city officials said the number of deaths from COVID-19 is 134. Meanwhile, 12 more patients have survived the contagious disease, raising the overall number of recoveries. to 337.
The city government also revealed that the number of COVID-19 cases with full addresses in Quezon City is 1,397.
Of this number, the Quezon City Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit and district health offices have validated 1,156 cases so far. The number of active cases of COVID-19 in the city is 685.
Barangay Batasan Hills still has the majority of COVID-19 cases with 62, followed by Culiat (50) and Matandang Balara (42). Meanwhile, District 4 has the majority of COVID-19 cases among the city’s 6 districts, with 298.
The city of Quezon has placed 34 barangays under “Enhanced Extreme Community Quarantine” due to the increased risk of COVID-19 transmission.
The national government has extended the enhanced community quarantine in Metro Manila and other regions for another two weeks while placing other areas under a general community quarantine.
To date, the Philippines has accounted for 10,463 coronavirus infections, of which 696 died and 1,734 recovered.
