MANILA, Philippines – The number of COVID-19 cases in the country reached 447,039 after 1,504 new cases were recorded, the Department of Health (DOH) said on Friday.
The latest DOH data showed there were also 273 new recoveries and eight additional deaths, bringing the respective totals to 409,329 and 8,709.
Of the total cases, 29,001 are active cases, of which 85.8 percent are mild cases, 6.7 percent are asymptomatic, 4.8 percent are critical, 2.4 percent are severe and 0.25 percent are moderate.
The city of Davao was identified as the area with the highest number of new cases with 122, followed by Rizal with 85, the city of Quezón with 80, the city of Santiago in Isabela with 67 and Bulacan with 64.
There were five duplicate cases, of which one was a recovered case, removed from the total case count, the DOH said.
In addition, there was a case previously labeled a recovery but later identified as a fatality, the DOH added.
