MANILA – The Philippines reported 3,962 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 on Saturday, bringing the number of cases nationwide to 283,460.

Cases of recoveries increased by 1,128 from the previous day, the Department of Health (DOH) said in its latest bulletin. The total number of recoveries stood at 209,885.

The country also recorded 100 new deaths from the respiratory disease, bringing the death toll to 4,930.

To date, the Philippines has 68,645 active cases of coronavirus, of which 87.4 percent of patients have mild symptoms, official figures from the Department of Health showed.
