Clark and Shintarou capitalized on Indonesia’s late collapse when E-Gilas Pilipinas achieved their third consecutive victory, 65-50, at the FIBA Esports Open II Southeast Asian Conference on Saturday night.
Down as much as 13 points in the final draw, Rafifsa engineered a 10-0 run to reduce the Philippines lead to just three points with 1:14 remaining in the game.
However, unfortunately for them, Clark had other things in mind. On the next possession, the former NBA2KL Invitational APAC representative dropped a three to restore order for the Filipinos.
Indonesian nerves caught them on the next play, when Loading was penalized for a shot clock violation that proved too costly for them.
Shintarou made the Indonesians pay with another triple to put the Philippines ahead by nine points, 59-50, with 19.8 tics left.
El Chapo choked Loading on the next play that forced a miss on the three corner attempt. To add insult to injury, Izzo found an open Clark at the other end for another triple followed by another from Shintarou outside of a timeout.
E-Gilas converted a three-point lead to 15 points in just under two minutes.
Clark shot 24 points, all of which came beyond the arc, against Indonesia. Meanwhile, Shintarou, who had 37 big points against Australia in the previous game, added 22 points for the Philippines.
Rafsisa, for his part, beat Indonesia with 19 points.
E-Gilas finished the first day at the top of the standings with a 3-1 win-loss list and will return to action tomorrow.
