“This coronavirus epidemic is a great test of our country’s capacity for governance and government, and it exposed the weak links in the way we approach the main epidemic and public health systems,” said Li Bin, vice minister of the National Commission. of Health of China.

The commission intends to build a “centralized and efficient” chain of command and modernize the disease prevention and control system, he said.

The commission also aims to make better use of data, artificial intelligence and cloud computing to better track and analyze viruses and distribute resources.

He said the commission planned to step up research on core technology, improve health insurance and better guarantee the availability of emergency materials.
