MANILA, Philippines – After being removed from office as Speaker of the House of Representatives, Taguig-Pateros Representative Alan Peter Cayetano was stripped of another position by being replaced on Friday as the legislative head of the Camarines Sur First Congressional District.

Before the House suspended its special marathon session on Friday morning, Rizal First District Representative Michael John Duavit was appointed as the new Camarines Sur First District Legislative Officer, replacing Cayetano.

In September, Cayetano was appointed legislative chief of the Congressional district after the death of Representative Marissa Andaya.

Sorsogon’s first district representative, Evelina Escudero, was also appointed as the province’s second district legislative officer following the death of her elected congresswoman Ditas Ramos in September.

On Monday, 186 lawmakers removed Cayetano from the presidency and elected Marinduque representative Lord Allan Velasco as president.

Most legislators ratified Velasco’s election the following day, prompting Cayetano’s resignation as president.
