MANILA, Philippines – TNT point guard Jayson Castro reached 8,000 career points on Monday, becoming the 35th player in PBA history to accomplish the feat.
Castro is also among the six active players to rack up as many points, joining MVPs James Yap, Mark Caguioa, Asi Taulava, Arwind Santos and Alex Cabagnot, according to PBA chief statistician Fidel Mangonon.
Cabagnot, the playmaker for San Miguel Beer, was placed on the elite list last week.
The 34-year-old Castro, a six-time PBA champion and five-time Conference Player, scored 10 points to help the Tropang Giga cool down the Phoenix Fuel Masters, 110-91.
With the victory, TNT won first place with a 4-0 record.
