Magnus Carlsen and Hikaru Nakamura shared first place and both earned $ 31,250 after finishing blocked on 6/9 at the end of the Champions Showdown: Chess 9LX hosted by the Saint Louis Chess Club. Magnus came closer to clinching first place in the end, but he threw it in one move against Levon Aronian, while Hikaru was also upset about squandering an early lead in his final game against Peter Svidler.
