The NBA trade deadline has come and gone, but the acquisitions market is preparing to heat up. There are many big names available, but one name that goes unnoticed is veteran point guard Jeff Teague. Many teams could use a player like him, but the Milwaukee Bucks and Chicago Bulls are two teams to watch closely.

An NBA agent, who requested anonymity, spoke with NBA Analysis Network’s Evan Massey and mentioned that the Bucks and Bulls are expected to continue to sign Teague.

“(Jeff) Teague is going to have a solid market in the league. Two teams that will chase him are Milwaukee and Chicago. Both teams need base depth and Teague would be the perfect fit and the best fit for them. “

Teague was traded by the Boston Celtics on the trade deadline for Evan Fournier’s deal. He had a solid season with the franchise, but being able to acquire a talent like Fournier made him expendable.

In the 34 games and five starts that Teague played with the Celtics, he finished averaging 6.9 points per game to accompany 2.1 assists. He shot 41.5 percent from the floor overall and knocked down 46.4 percent of his three-point attempts.

Looking at the Bucks and Bulls, both teams make perfect sense to Jeff Teague. Milwaukee traded veteran guard DJ Augustin on the PJ Tucker deal and needs some depth on guard. As for the Bulls, they tried to trade for Lonzo Ball, but they came up short and could use a veteran point guard.

Right now, the Bucks would be the most logical landing spot for Teague. They are legitimate contenders for the NBA Finals. On the other hand, the Bulls may open up a bigger role for Teague.

Another team to watch out for when it comes to Teague in the buyout market is the Charlotte Hornets. LaMelo Ball may return at some point this season, but the broken wrist he suffered causes the Hornets to need quality guard depth behind Terry Rozier and Devonte ‘Graham.

Expect to see quite a few teams bid for Jeff Teague. Don’t be surprised if you end up with the Bucks or the Bulls when all is said and done.
