The SAN Miguel experience came to the fore at the defining moment and led to a 92-8 victory over Alaska on Saturday in the PBA Philippine Cup at the AUF Sports Arena powered by Smart 5G technology in Angeles City.

Alex Cabagnot led the offense with a game-high 19 points, while veterans Chris Ross and Arwind Santos stood out the most on the defensive end as the Beermen racked up their second straight win and raised their record to 3-2.

In addition to scattering 17 points, Santos also grabbed 10 rebounds for his second straight double-double, while Ross had three steals in the final two minutes, each time denying Alaska a chance to cut an 86-90 deficit.

“The veterans stepped up,” said SMB coach Leo Austria. “I think the sense of urgency from the players was there. Everyone was very calm.”

The loss halted Alaska’s three-game winning streak and leveled their record at 3-3.
