Big train, flight operations suspended due to Rolly

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, November 1) – Attention, travelers!

Major transportation services have been temporarily suspended due to potential impacts from the Super Typhoon Rolly, government agencies announced over the weekend.

In its Sunday morning notice, the Department of Transportation said the main Light Rail Transit train lines (Lines 1 and 2) and Metro Rail Transit Line 3 suspended services after the capital region was laid under Sign No. 4.

DOTr added that the Philippine National Railways also halted operations until further notice due to severe weather conditions.

The agency noted that passengers and employees who were already on the trains and stations before the suspension would be transported to their destinations.

Meanwhile, Ninoy Aquino International Airport will also be closed for 24 hours starting Sunday at 10 a.m., according to airport officials.

The Manila International Airport Authority recommended that passengers coordinate the new flight schedules with interested airlines.

“Rolly” made landfall twice on Sunday morning, in the vicinity of Bato, Catanduanes and Tiwi, Albay. PAGASA warned of stronger rains and winds as the day progresses.
