WASHINGTON US President-elect Joe Biden said in a statement Friday that the November US employment report underscored the need for urgent action on coronavirus relief, but that any package approved by the Congress now would not be enough and more would be needed in January.

“This is a grim jobs report. It shows an economy that is stagnating, “he said, adding that he was” encouraged “by the Senate’s bipartisan efforts on a $ 900 billion aid package.

“Congress and President Trump must reach an agreement for the American people. But any package approved in the lame duck session is not enough. … Congress must act again in January. “
