Belgium’s Janssen Gets FDA Approval for COVID Vaccine Clinical Trials

MANILA, Philippines – Belgium’s Janssen Pharmaceutical has already obtained approval from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to conduct phase 3 clinical trials in the country for its COVID-19 vaccine.

FDA Director General Eric Domingo made the announcement Tuesday, saying that Janssen will be the first to conduct clinical trials in the Philippines.

“’Yung natin’s clinical trial requests, we received three requests. We already approved one: ito po ‘yung Clinical Trial ng Janssen, ”Domingo said in an online media forum.

Applications from two other drug makers, Clover Biopharmaceuticals and Sinovac, are still under review, he added.
