Atayde won for her role on ABS-CBN’s broadcast platform iWant, crime thriller drama series “Bagman.”

Atayde plays 30-year-old Benjo, who serves as the governor’s barber, but actually works as a bill collector for a corrupt politician.

The show premiered in March 2019, followed by a second season in November of the same year.

“This is for everyone who has been discouraged by others from pursuing their dreams, for everyone who has been told they don’t belong, for everyone who has doubts about themselves, for everyone behind the scenes who made this possible @abscbn @dreamscapeph @ “entertainment, for my loved ones who continually support my every move – my family, friends and Bubs, and for all my fellow actors in the Philippines – my victory is yours,” Atayde wrote on his account on Instagram on Saturday afternoon, a day after he was cited by AAA.

“This is for fighting the good fight and doing what you love!

“To the Asian Academy Creative Awards, thank you for the recognition and for recognizing Filipino talent. It is a true honor! “he continued.

Atayde beat out nine other nominees from India, Malaysia, and AAA host country Singapore, among others.

But even before winning the international award, Atayde first had to be the country’s national winner to enter the official pool of nominees. Atayde took home the award nationwide in October.

AAA is proud to be the “most prestigious award for creative excellence” in Asia Pacific. It annually brings together “the best of the best from 16 countries that represent the region’s content industry.”
