It wasn’t just the professionalization of the Premier Volleyball League that Sports Vision president Ricky Palou showed on Friday night.
During the PVL and Games and Amusements Board press conference, Palou also revealed that Spiker’s Turf is a separate entity from Sports Vision.
“Just FYI, Spiker’s Turf is not under Sports Vision. It is a completely different entityPalou said.
And the league is under the leadership of Alyssa Valdez.
Yes, the six-time PVL MVP is also the president of the first men’s volleyball league in the country.
“Alyssa Valdez is the president of Spiker’s Turf,Palou continued.
Under the leadership of the 27-year-old Valdez, it will reach league clubs such as Cignal, PLDT, Sta. Elena, Instituto Estetico Manila, Cafe Lupe Hostel & Restaurant, Easytrip Services and Go for Gold on the league’s next step: become a professional.
It was a development that excites GAB President Baham Mitra, as turning pro means he will lead more kids to play volleyball.

Valdez’s boyfriend, Kiefer Ravena, on the other hand, is also a member of the National Women’s Basketball League.
