BELEAGUERED Basketball coach Aldin Ayo has finally broken his silence following the indefinite suspension that was granted to him by the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP).

In a statement released on the night of Friday, September 11, Ayo expressed her intention to appeal the aforementioned sanction, considering that it is not “appropriate.”

Ayo received the sanction for his alleged participation in the illegal training camp in Sorsogon in which the men’s basketball team Growling Tigers of the University of Santo Tomas (UST) participated. Ayo has since resigned from his position as head coach.

“I deeply feel that the indefinite ban imposed on me by the UAAP Board is not appropriate under the circumstances. I will seek the reconsideration of said sanction, “said the statement.

The UAAP handed over the ban last Thursday after the league’s Board of Trustees approved the Board of Managing Directors’ recommendation that came after a review of the UST investigation into the events surrounding the training ground. .

Ayo admitted that this saga has affected him deeply.

“I have found that no matter how motivated and well-intentioned you want to be, things go wrong. It makes you feel humble, even humiliated, and we learn to painfully accept letting things be, ”Ayo continued.

However, the energetic coach said that in due course he will rise from this debacle.

“However, to quote a Scottish proverb, ‘I am wounded, but not dead. So let me bleed for a bit and then I’ll get up to train again! (JNP)
