MANILA, Philippines – A 4.6 magnitude aftershock struck areas near Sarangani in Davao Occidental on Wednesday night.
According to a bulletin from the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs), the shaking occurred after the 6.2 magnitude earthquake that struck a large part of Mindanao early Wednesday morning.
The epicenter of the aftershock was located off the coast of Mindanao, 35 kilometers southwest of Sarangani, at a depth of only 29 kilometers. Intensity II was felt in the city of Kiamba de Sarangani and in the city of General Santos.
Intensity I, on the other hand, I experienced in the city of Alabel.

No further aftershocks or damage are expected from Wednesday night’s quake, according to Phivolcs, which also did not generate any tsunami warnings despite the earthquake offshore.
