The Los Angeles Lakers won a pivotal Game 4 in the Western Conference Finals.
The Denver Nuggets have the Los Angeles Lakers right where they want them, right? For the third time in the playoffs, the Denver Nuggets are down 3-1 in the Western Conference Finals. Can they come back again? Lake Show Life will answer those questions in Lake Show Life Lessons, the only Los Angeles Lakers postgame report with video analytics.
Wow, let the meaning of this sentence sink in for a second before continuing. After six years of being tied with the New York Knicks for the worst team in the NBA in percentage terms, the Los Angeles Lakers are one victory away from returning to the NBA Finals.
Now, for the next 36 hours, Lakers fans can digest each sports platform over and over again about the Nuggets’ possible return from a 3-1 deficit.
In a bizarre game that added to an even stranger series, the Los Angeles Lakers responded after losing Game 3 on Tuesday by winning Game 4, 114-108. The victory gives them a 3-1 lead in the Western Conference Finals. It’s not that the Lakers won the game, they just ended up with more points, crazy as it sounds.
- Anthony Davis started unconscious from the field … but the man cannot recover in the first half to save his life!
- LeBron James, for the first time in quite a while, literally got tired of watching an opposing guard set the Lakers backcourt on fire and took the challenge of doing it himself.
- While doing that, she couldn’t throw him into the ocean with a sunken neck from outside!
- Dwight Howard absolutely killed Nikola Jokic in the first half. Then the Lake Show Life staff almost released a missing person report for the second half! He hardly played!
- The next game, the NBA world will be watching the umpires. There were terrible calls on both ends.
The stories in this game were neon light style for this game.
The Los Angeles Lakers (or LeBron if you listen to the trolls!) Contacted the NBA about the lack of calls from LeBron James on the series:
Did you know this happened after Mike Malone complained about the disparity of calls in the direction of the Lakers in Game 1. Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray appeared with many Nuggets in foul trouble as the Lakers had 24 free throws in just the second quarter. Until this game, LeBron had 10 total free throws in the series. This is nothing new, the Houston Rockets did the same in 2018 and this discussion was raised earlier this season.
Let’s say it worked out for LeBron and the Lakers in the end. More of that in a minute.
Eventually the other shoe fell and Dwight Howard replaced JaVale McGee in the starting lineup:
In addition to finding a way to stop Jamal Murray, the embarrassing performance on the boards led to Frank Vogel making the play and trading the starter in the middle. 44-25 on the boards along with no rim protection could keep JaVale on the bench for the rest of the series. But not that Lake Show Life didn’t see it coming… like before the season started!
Look, there won’t be another 3-1 comeback for the Denver Nuggets against the Los Angeles Lakers. But let’s be clear, Jamal Murray has given the Lake Show the business in this series.
Sure, LeBron James stopped Murray at the end, but if Paul Millsap weren’t so bad and Mason Plumlee didn’t have the basketball IQ of a minor league player, the Denver Nuggets might have pulled this game out. The game respects the game and Jamal Murray has plenty with surpluses if necessary.
Lake Show Life salutes Jamal Murray, even in a losing effort, he was by far the best player on the basketball court and he wasn’t even close. It’s just that basketball is a team sport and the Los Angeles Lakers have a better team.
Watching Murray’s press conference interview, he looked very tired and exhausted. Lakers role players helped the stars, Murray did not get the support of his teammates.
