ABS-CBN Corp.’s news segment restored its YouTube channel presence, just hours after the online video-sharing platform terminated its accounts.

The media giant led by López in a statement issued Tuesday morning said it had been working with YouTube to bring back the ABS-CBN News and ANC 24/7 channels.

According to the video platform, the account “has been terminated for a violation of YouTube’s Terms of Service.”

The company was able to recover his account at 3:58 pm

“The two news channels were temporarily suspended starting at 6:30 am after a hacking incident,” he said in a statement released Tuesday night.

“The investigation into the incident continues as we also implement measures to prevent this from happening again,” ABS-CBN added.

Currently, it has 10.6 million subscribers.

The signing was a new trend on Twitter as Filipinos took to social media their frustrations following the YouTube move despite the need for greater dissemination of information amid the calamity and coronavirus pandemic.

They also claimed that the titan’s absence from the broadcast left many Filipinos in the dark, especially before and during the super typhoon “Rolly” attack.

ABS-CBN went off the air last May due to franchise issues. On July 10, 70 lawmakers voted against his request for a franchise renewal, which should allow his broadcast and radio operations to continue.

ABS-CBN shares fell 16 cents or 1.43 percent to close at P11.04 each on Tuesday.
