Six shows with Kapamilya stars are among the shows to air soon on TV5.
In an article published in ABS-CBN, the partnership is said to have come about after Brightlight Productions secured block time slots with the Manny Pangilinan-led network.
According to the report, the goal is to reawaken “Philippine television viewing habits that may have declined in recent months of crisis.”
Titles viewers could expect to air on TV5 soon include “Laugh Out Loud,” which is a midday show hosted by Billy Crawford, Alex Gonzaga, K Brosas and Wacky Kiray with Star Magic’s Johnny Manahan serving as producer.
Mr. M, 72, will also wear the director’s hat for a “Sunday noon variety show” with Piolo Pascual and Catriona Gray.
On the other hand, Edgar Mortiz will direct “Sunday Kada Kada Sunday”, while director Dan Villegas will work with artists such as Beauty Gonzales, RK Bagatsing and Yen Santos in the romantic drama series “I Got You”.
There is also the reboot of “Rated K” by Korina Sánchez, which will be known as “Rated Korina.”
Last but not least is the sitcom “Oh My Dad” to be directed by Jeffrey Jeturian, starring Ian Veneracion, Dimples Romana, Sue Ramirez, Ariel Urieta and Gloria Diaz.
Recall that last July, 70 legislators voted against the company’s franchise offer, while only 11 voted in favor of it.
ABS-CBN stopped its operations on May 4, the day its previous 25-year congressional license expired.
