Warriors vs. Raptors Revisited – Golden State Of Mind

[ad_1]

The Golden State Warriors were completely embarrassed by the Toronto Raptors on Friday night, losing 130-77. Yes, you read that score correctly. They lost by 53 points.

I guess they didn’t get it right on their pre-game keys for my preview win. But let’s plug our noses and find out.

Head up

The key: Don’t run out of energy and confidence after a deflating loss.

The result: Well, I look pretty bad for including this one. Or maybe pretty good, since I guess it was an important key.

Maybe it was Thursday’s loss, maybe it was a back-to-back on the road, or maybe it was the absence of Steph Curry and Draymond Green. Whatever it was, the Warriors were lethargic and seemed unsure of themselves throughout the night. And the 53 point losses are what happens when you play like you’re unsure of yourself.

Still, they were at one after the first quarter, so … the beginning could have been worse, I guess.

Key qualification: 1.5 out of 10.

Wiggs

The key: More than 20 points for the good efficiency of Andrew Wiggins.

The result: Wiggins was the Warriors’ best offensive player, but it still wasn’t enough for the win … or this key.

Wiggins’ 15 points not only led the Warriors, they did so by a considerable margin, which is the bad news. The good news is that Wiggins was quite efficient, shooting 5 of 9 from the field and 4 of 4 from the free throw line.

If Wiggins can consistently become an efficient scorer, he’s in that direction, that will help the Warriors immensely. But they need it in a larger quantity, especially when Curry is out.

Key qualification: 4 out of 10.

Play smart

The key: Limit unforgivable mistakes at both ends of the court.

The result: Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha.

LOL

Key qualification: -10 out of 10.

Let’s get back to it on Sunday, hopefully with healthier players and more competent basketball.
