Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, March 29) – The top Quezon City official said she has tested positive for COVID-19 again.
In a statement posted on the Quezon City government social media pages on Monday, Mayor Joy Belmonte said she was only experiencing mild symptoms and will continue to work while in quarantine at the Hope Community Care Center in the city.
“It goes without saying that I will abide by all protocols and actions recommended by DOH, IATF, and our own City Epidemiology and Disease Surveillance Unit. Our CESU is also working hard to perform full contact tracing procedures on people. that can We have had close contact with, ”said Belmonte.
The mayor first tested positive for the virus eight months ago.
“Even after recovering from the virus last year and carefully observing all recommended precautions, my positive result is a sober reminder that there is no room for complacency when it comes to this disease,” he added.
On Monday, the Health Department said the country registered more than 10,000 new cases, bringing the cumulative case count nationally to 731,894.
This is the sixth time in less than two weeks that the Philippines has set a new record, beating the previous record of 9,838 infections listed just three days earlier.
