MANILA, Philippines – President Rodrigo Duterte will announce the nationwide quarantine classifications Monday evening from April 5 to 30, Malacañang said.
According to presidential spokesman Harry Roque, the president will have his usual “People Talk” after attending the delivery ceremony for a million doses of CoronaVac purchased from Chinese pharmaceutical company Sinovac BioTech with select cabinet officials.
The president will also discuss financial assistance for those affected by the implementation of a week-long enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) that began Monday and will last until April 4, he added.
“We hope that in Talk to the People, the quarantine classification will be finalized from April 5 until the end of April and then the issue of government assistance. [dahil sa ECQ]”Roque said in a briefing at the Palace.

Metro Manila, Rizal, Laguna, Bulacan, Cavite and Laguna – or the so-called bubble NCR Plus – were placed under ECQ since Monday due to recent increases in COVID-19 cases.
Roque, however, could not say whether the reimposed ECQ will be extended, and said interested agencies are thoroughly deliberating.
