PETALING JAYA, March 23 – Blackpink member Rosé has set another record for herself as a solo artist after topping the Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl. US lists with their song On the floor.

The 24-year-old is the first musician to reach number one on the Billboard Global Excl. United States as a solo singer and with a group, after Blackpink topped the same list in October 2020 with their track. Lovesick girls.

Following the release of his first solo album R On March 12, Rosé jumped to the top of the Billboard Global 200 with On the floor with 92.1 million views that same week.

His new song Missing, which appears in R As a B-side, it also entered the Billboard Global 200 at No. 29 with 19.6 million views.

Rosé, who grew up in Australia and now lives in South Korea, is best known for being a part of the popular K-pop girl group Blackpink.

His hit songs include How do you like that, Kill this love, Frozen with American singer Selena Gomez, and her collaboration with British pop star Dua Lipa to Kissing and makeup.

Rosé’s first solo music video for On the floor has already broken YouTube records by garnering 41.6 million views in the first 24 hours of its release on March 12, beating PSY Gangnam Style which racked up 36 million views on its first day.

Blackpink fans have continued to stream On the floor religiously, with the video now having over 111 million views and trending at number two on YouTube in Malaysia.
