BAMBANG, Nueva Vizcaya: At least P10 million more were delivered to the Malasakit Center at the Cagayan Valley Medical Center (CVMC) in the city of Tuguegarao from the Office of the President, according to Senator Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go.

Go was recently in Cagayan province to provide assistance to poor patients at the hospital, as well as typhoon victims who lost their livelihood due to massive flooding last year.

“The additional funds awarded to the Malasakit Center were to increase the funds that were previously discharged to defray the expenses of the poorest of the poor patients who were confined in the CVMC,” he said.

Go added that the government wants poor patients to be free from the high cost of hospitalization.

He urged poor patients to come to the Malasakit Center whenever they need help.

During the senator’s visit to CVMC, his team served meals and distributed vitamins, masks, face shields, and food packages.

Meanwhile, through the government’s Crisis Assistance program, Go said that some 1,300 families in the city of Tuguegarao, which were severely affected by a series of typhoons and floods in 2020, received P3,000 each.

Families also received food packages, canes and wheelchairs (select individuals), bicycles, and shoes.

Go was accompanied by Malacañang’s legal advisor Salvador Panelo, who distributed computer drives and tablets.

Asking Cagayanos to cooperate in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic, he assured everyone not to worry because vaccines against the disease are coming.

“We have already started to inoculate front-line doctors and the next priority will be seniors and people in the community,” Go said.
