MANILA, Philippines – Jenel Lausa will have a new opponent for his return to mixed martial arts on Thursday’s BRAVE CF undercard in Bahrain.
The promotion announced Tuesday night that Afghanistan’s Rahmatullah Yousufzai has withdrawn from his three-round flyweight competition against Lausa for the undercard BRAVE CF 47: Asian Domination.
The fight will continue, with Ryskulbek Ibraimov taking Yousufzai’s place on the card. Ibraimov was originally scheduled to face Kazakh Asu Almabaev on the same card.
The 29-year-old dynamo is one of the best flyweights to emerge from Kyrgyzstan. He is 18-8 in the fight, with six submissions and three knockouts. The complete representative of Aikol Manas will face a tough challenge when he takes on Lausa.
Born and raised in Iloilo, Philippines, Lausa has a professional record of 7-5 with two wins by knockout and two by submission. He has a wealth of fighting experience under various organizations on his resume, having shared the cage with some of Asia’s best mixed martial artists, including Ernesto Montilla Jr., Crisanto Pitpitunge, Yao Zhikui, and Ulka Sasaki.
In addition to mixed martial arts, Lausa also made his mark inside the boxing ring, with a perfect 10-0-1 position with six knockouts. He captured the Philippine Boxing Federation super bantamweight championship in 2016 and then won the World Boxing Organization Asia-Pacific super featherweight title three years later.
BRAVE CF 47: Asian Domination is headlined by a world lightweight title eliminator between Philippine superstar Rolando Dy and Abdisalam Kubanychbek of Kyrgyzstan.
