The Netflix anime series DOTA: Dragon’s Blood, based on the DOTA 2 video game, receives a new trailer and character artwork ahead of its March release.
Netflix anime-style series DOTA: dragon blood has a new trailer ahead of its March 25 release. The series is based on DOTA 2, Valve’s MOBA (Massive Online Battle Arena) fantasy game in the vein of League of Legends Y Heroes of the Storm. DOTA, itself an acronym for Defense of the Ancients, was first released in 2003 as a fan-developed mod for Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos before its sequel became one of the most popular (and lucrative) video games in the world.
After releasing the teaser trailer for DOTA: dragon bloodNetflix has released an official trailer and new character art for the eight-episode series. New character posters feature several of the show’s most prominent heroes in their fighting stances: drawn weapons and flaming magic.
While DOTA 2 lacks a primary narrative and draws on the story over the plot, the trailer suggests that DOTA: dragon blood will follow Davion (Yuri Lowenthal), a young Dragon Knight who is also one of the game’s playable heroes. The series features an impressive cast of veteran voice actors and features Ashley Edward Miller (X Men First generation, Stripe) as its executive producer and showrunner.
Since its launch in 2013, DOTA 2 has become a force to be reckoned with in the rapidly growing esports market. The International 2019 Winning Team, the Greatest DOTA 2 A global tournament, it raised more money per player than the winners of Wimbledon and The Masters, two prestigious tournaments in the more traditional sports of tennis and golf. After animated hits like Castlevania, and the massive success of live action The Wizard, Netflix should do DOTA: dragon blood another good entry in their growing catalog of popular video game adaptations.
