EN Management founder Eddie Nam, who runs Epik High, echoed Tablo’s sentiment in a series of tweets It said, “This is heartbreaking as a manager, friend, and fan. There must be a solution ASAP. Knowing the years of hard work the guys put into those projects, it really hurts to see this.” Artists who signed with YG Entertainment, SM Entertainment, JYP, and BigHit Entertainment (excluding BigHit Labels), however, were not affected by the removals.

YouTube Music followed the trend Twitter after dozens of fans said they would opt out of Spotify and Move on to the YouTube-owned music streaming service in support of the music of your favorite Korean artists. “As GFriend’s discography is not available on Spotify for now, we highly recommend Buddies (GFriend fans) to stream on other platforms until this issue is resolved. Meanwhile, Kakao M has released a separate statement stating that Spotify was the one who chose not to renew their agreement. “Unrelated to our pre-existing global license agreement with Spotify, Kakao M has been negotiating separately with Spotify regarding a national contract for the supply of music. Unrelated to the national contract, which we are still negotiating, we received a separate notification of the expiration of our license on February 28 and requested a renewal of our existing global contract, “said Kakao M, adding that they continue their negotiations with Spotify.
