Jalen Green warmed up past the arc to set a new personal record, but it was Isaiah Todd who scored the win in Team Ignite’s 113-112 win over Canton Charge on Saturday in the NBA G League bubble at the Sports Complex. Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida.
Green exploded for 26 points on an efficient 9-for-14 clip, making six of his eight 3s. The Filipino-American guard also had three assists and one rebound.
Ignite held a comfortable 109-98 lead with 5:32 to play when Sheldon Mack and Brodric Thomas unleashed an 11-0 blast that tied the score with less than three minutes to go.
Jonathan Kuminga’s layup after an assist from Green restored Ignite the lead, but Thomas nailed a free throw and then jumped with 4.9 seconds to go to give Canton a 112-111 lead.
That left enough time for Ignite to set up a play for Todd, who took aim before getting up for a distant jump that hit the glass before falling when the bell rang.

“It was a good team effort in every way,” Ignite coach Brian Shaw said. “With them in that kind of situation, I think he had the four young men on the floor. Isaiah, Daishen (Nix), J-Green and Kuminga.”
“The more they can gain experience in such situations, the more they will grow,” he added.
Todd finished with 17 points and seven rebounds, while Kuminga had 20 points, 13 rebounds and two assists. Daishen Nix accounted for nine of Ignite’s 28 assists in the game.
Shaw regretted his team’s turnovers as his 16 errors led to 27 points for the Canton Charge.
Mack finished with 21 points, the same outing as Devon Dotson. Thomas had 18 points and 10 rebounds.
Ignite improved to 7-4 and bounced back from last Friday’s loss to Salt Lake City.
